What are level 3 repair services?

To be able to explain what level 3 repair services are, you should know that these services can be subdivided into three different levels. With the lowest level, the most generic repairs or maintenance, and level three the most difficult or complex ones. This still sounds kind of vague, so we will explain it to you in an example. 

Imagine you are a company who is selling phones all over the world. As one of your services, you offer repair and maintenance to your customers. This can be repair services from level 1 to level 3 of repair. Level 1 will be simple tasks, like changing the battery. All you have to do is open the phone with a screwdriver, put the old battery out, put the new one in and close the phone again. Almost everyone can do this.

Level 2 is a bit more complicated. The tasks can be a minor repair inside the phone, replacing the charger input, or the phone’s speaker. Next to the fact that these repairs are a bit more complicated there are also more safety and hazard risks. The phone could be damaged during the procedure or the person doing the repairs could get hurt. Therefore these procedures must be done by a technician who followed safety and hazard training. 

The highest level of repairs contains all of the above kinds of repairs and is responsible for handling the most difficult and advanced problems. Level 3 engineers repair components up to circuit boards. These engineers have a high understanding of the products and the electronic and mechanical parts of the products. You can think of changing the electronics on the phone or an adjustment on the circuit board.
